This artistic project is the result of a collaboration with the potter, Alin Iorga from Horyzo (Vâlcea), who turned my ideas into reality and fully understood that I want to preserve the pottery tradition from this ancient kiln of ceramic makers.
Each lid is unique and handcrafted from fired clay, based on the ancient shape of a jar's knot, used for thousands of years by our ancestors.
Each bottle is handmade with intricate details, painted by hand, and unique. Through the design of the glass, I tried to artistically reproduce the slender shapes and rivers that form the Carpathian-Danubian space where I live. Each lid and box contains a composition of acrylic earth, which represents the precious land of my ancestors.
Why did I choose shades of blue, gold, and brown to decorate the bottle, lid, and box?
- Blue is water,
- Brown is earth,
- And gold is sunlight, which we cannot live without.
Through every fragrant artistic project I launch, I try to honor the ancient Romanian craftsmanship, traditions, and customs, most of which have been forgotten.
I strive to promote Romania through my art and make it known everywhere, so each box and bottle carries the phrase "Handmade in Romania."
